FOUNDER'S STORY
My passion for financial planning was born from a deeply personal experience — watching my mother, after my father’s passing, navigate difficult financial decisions. She placed her trust in the wrong people and faced consequences that could have been avoided with the right guidance. I saw firsthand how misplaced trust can strip away independence and alter the course of one’s life.

That experience shaped not only my commitment to protecting others, but also my approach to how I serve. A mentor once said, “Your strength is building trust before talking numbers. That’s the heart of holistic planning.” That nudge inspired me to pursue my Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation and Series 65 license so I could serve clients as a fiduciary — always putting their best interests first.

However, my work with the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) refined and deepened that mission. What began as a way to grow my network evolved into leadership roles as Membership Committee Chair and two-term Chapter President. After one event, I walked a fellow member to her car. Along the way, she confided that she needed guidance with her investments. She was a CPA, intelligent, successful, yet still felt a bit uncertain when it came to planning and investing. That moment made one thing clear: even the most capable professionals need a trusted financial ally. It was the spark that inspired CPA Allies—and that CPA became our very first client. She’s still with us today.

Over time, I noticed a powerful trend — more than 90% of our clients were women. I leaned into it. Women often make key financial decisions, outlive their partners, pursue advanced careers, care for loved ones, and still want to feel secure in their future whether married, single, or widowed.

One of the moments that will always stay with me is when a long-time client passed away and her daughter reached out, saying, “My parents said if anything ever happens, I should call you. They trusted you.” At that moment, I felt the true impact of what it means to be someone’s trusted adviser. My goal has always been to serve with clarity, confidence, and compassion — and over time, it’s grown from a career into a calling.
